They fought a proposal to widen I-295 because they believed the state’s resources could be better used elsewhere.
Several First Congressional District candidates, including Chellie Pingree, Adam Cote and Michael Brennan, came. Ethan Strimling also had a table there. Portland legislative candidates also came. The league’s new state director, Harris Parnell, was also introduced. She starts in two weeks. It was also a fundraiser for the league. Diamond estimated they would bring in about $3,000 that night.
