A Note from Peter Asen, Campaign Manager

There are 18 days left until Primary Day, and we are counting on all of you. We’re counting on you to help us reach the tens of thousands of still-undecided voters between now and then by making phone calls and knocking on doors. We’re counting on you to volunteer at the polls on June 10.

And, crucially, we’re counting on you to help us raise the final $25,000 we need to complete our campaign budget. Can you help us get there with a contribution of $25, $50, $100, $250, or more today? Over these last 18 days, we are doing TV and radio ads, phone calls, door to door canvassing, and direct mail. Aside from our great volunteer help, none of this is free.

Our recent poll showing us in second place in this race did prove to us one important thing: this campaign is not about who can raise or spend the most money. It can, instead, be won by the campaign with the most heart.

At our campaign dinner Wednesday at the Stareast Cafe, Michael accepted the endorsement of Dexter Kamilewicz, the peace activist and father of an disabled Iraq veteran, by praising Dexter for running a campaign for Congress himself that was “all about heart.”

I am most proud to be a part of this campaign because of our heart. That heart is the 90 year-old volunteer making phone calls; it’s the longtime Brennan supporter who told me recently, “I can’t stand going door to door, but I will do it for Michael”; it’s Michael’s son Ryan, who is teaching in Peru, sending a message about his dad’s sincerity to our Facebook group.

And finally, the heart of this campaign includes all of you, who support us, whether you’ve given your time, your money, or both. You are why we are competing to win this race; you are our strength and our power; you are the grassroots that keeps us focused where we need to be.

I know we have asked so much of you, and we are so grateful for how you have responded again and again. But we do need you more than ever in these last 18 days - including a contribution today. Please contribute $25, $50, $100, $250 or more today.

Thank you again. Let’s keep it going.
